Ad Hoc
(Ongoing work), 2024 - present

Ad Hoc is a series of photographs which analyzes the subway as a flooding site. The images depict the quickly constructed metal trays lining the ceilings of New York's subways. Used to contain leaks and flooding, the trays' improvised, yet precise, forms are an attempt to preserve and persevere against the system’s inevitable decay. What does it mean to hold destruction and preservation together? How can they coexist in an artwork?
